Kristof Farms is a family-run vineyard and orchard north of Yamhill. The farm has been in the Kristof family for more than half a century: The patriarch was Ladis Kristof, a World War II refugee whose family spied on the Nazis in Poland and Romania, was caught and eventually managed to flee and make his way to Oregon in 1952. Ladis and Jane Kristof raised their son, the New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof, on the farm, and today it is managed by Nicholas and his wife, Sheryl WuDunn, the first husband-wife couple to win a Pulitzer Prize for journalism. Nick and Sheryl, together with their three children, produce small-lot estate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Rosé and award-winning hard cider while preserving the property as a wildlife corridor. Rooted in history, resilience, and stewardship, Kristof Farms is about caring for the land as well as about crafting exceptional wines.
